Voyages to Antiquity recently announced that it has increased its number of dedicated single cabins to 12 percent of its entire inventory of accommodations. Dedicated-single cabins are available in a variety of categories, including inside to deluxe outside with a balcony. "Single travel is one of the fastest growing segments in the travel industry, particularly in the case of destination travel brands where the demographic is generally the mature market,” said Mitchell J. Schlesinger, VP of sales and marketing of
Voyages to Antiquity. “We are supporting this growth and extending our 'Extraordinary Value' brand promise by offering a variety of extremely affordable accommodations for single travelers." Mr. Schlesinger also stated that there are between 40 and 60 solo travelers on any cruise. Single passenger cruise fares start from $4,550 in the Mediterranean and $4,795 in the Far East. Guests booking reservations by September 30, 2012, can save up to $500 on selected departures in the Mediterranean and the Far East through July 3, 2013.
