The Palace Hotel Tokyo will open on May 17, 2012, as it has completed a $1.2 billion redevelopment. The luxury hotel has been accepting reservations for its grand opening since February 1. The deluxe, 23-story hotel has 290 guestrooms in six categories, including 12 luxury suites. There will be 10 restaurants and bars onsite. It is located near the Imperial Palace. “This hotel is Japanese through and through, from its ownership and management, to its service protocols and its picture-perfect location by the Imperial Palace gardens and moats,” said Takashi Kobayashi, president of Palace Hotel Tokyo. “For domestic and international travelers alike, whether they’re with us for business or leisure, we hope they will walk away saying, ‘To have stayed at Palace Hotel Tokyo is to have experienced the very essence of Japanese hospitality.’” The soon-to-open Palace Hotel Tokyo is already a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
