Bayfront has been recognized by the American Automobile Association as a Four Diamond hotel, a distinction reserved for properties with "a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail" as characterized by the association. Collectively, Four Diamond establishments represent just 3.6 percent of the 59,000 annually rated properties and restaurants.
Hilton San Diego Bayfront, a 30-story, 1,190 room hotel, is located on the edge of the bay in downtown San Diego and situated on 12.79 acres of Bayfront land. The hotel boasts 165,000 square feet of meeting and event space, three restaurants, a 7,300 square foot health club and spa, 3,000 square feet of retail space, a 2,400 square foot business center along with a luxurious swimming pool area including cabanas overlooking San Diego Bay and nearly $2 million of commissioned public art. The Hilton San Diego Bayfront is just steps away from the San Diego Convention Center and PETCO Park.
"On behalf of our entire hotel team, we are truly honored to receive this very special Four Diamond distinction on the first time being rated by AAA since our opening," said J. Peter Lynn, general manager of Hilton San Diego Bayfront. "Receiving this award exemplifies the level of service and dedication that our entire team strives to provide our guests on a daily basis. We are excited to represent a hotel that is inspired by everything great about San Diego."
The American Automobile Association defines Four Diamond properties as upscale, refined and stylish resorts with many amenities. In a constant effort to focus on their guests and make the hotel experience extremely enjoyable, the Hilton San Diego Bayfront was just one of the many who were pleased to see the completion of the pedestrian walking bridge earlier this year. The self-anchored, 550-foot pedestrian suspension bridge in downtown San Diego connects the waterfront with the East Village.
Now rather than walking down along the convention center path and across the street and trolley tracks, guests have easy access from the hotel directly to PETCO Park and the downtown Gaslamp District, avoiding the nuisance by going up and over. It’s wonderful to see this new addition to the area being utilized and enjoyed on a daily basis by hotel guests and locals alike.
