Hotel Opening: The Oitavos, the hotly anticipated new five-star luxury hotel and spa has opened in Portugal. Located just 20 minutes west of Lisbon overlooking the West Atlantic coastline, the hotel is set within the Sintra Cascais National Park and is the first luxury hotel developed on the Quinta da Marinha Original estate.

The contemporary hotel is set amongst sand dunes and pine trees and is adjacent to the award winning Arthur Hills-designed Oitavos Dunes golf course, ranked 88th in the top 100 courses in the world by Golf Magazine. Its bold design, sleek lines and elegantly simple interiors focus attention outwards. The result is a hotel which embraces rather than competes with its natural surroundings.

Guests can now enjoy the 142 oversized guest rooms. All superior and premium rooms will offer 60 square metres of space and have their own balconies offering sea views and vistas over the golf course. Five premium corner rooms have large wrap around decks and dramatic Atlantic ocean views. The hotel also has 14 junior suites with extra large balconies perfect for entertaining up to ten people and two individual suites, the Atlantic and Oitavos Suites. The Atlantic features a separate living and dining area and either one or two bedrooms, located on the Northwest corner of the top floor with excellent views. The Oitavos is an expansive 120m2 one bedroom suite also offering a separate living and dining area and a spectacular 60m2 balcony directly overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and golf course.

Dining experiences including a gourmet dining room, a sushi bar, tea lounge and casual restaurant with open air terrace. The full service destination spa, inspired by the ocean, will use natural and sea inspired organic treatment products by VOYA and offers a holistic wellness approach. There are 10 treatment rooms, an indoor and outdoor seawater swimming pool and steam and sauna.

In addition, the hotel features a state-of-the-art conference centre for up to 300 people; this will have dedicated facilities for groups including a separate check in desk and dining facilities. There will be five additional meeting and boardrooms catering for up to 150 people. Each offers space, comfort, daylight views and the best technical support ensuring meetings are handled efficiently and with ease.
