HOTEL OVERVIEW

Surrounded by the pulsating heart of Milan, just 10 minutes walking from Piazza Duomo, this elegant 17th century mansion has been recently converted into a charming and cosy small apartment hotel, where all the expectations of modern conveniences are met, within the atmosphere of a private stately home. A remarkable attention to detail distinguishes each of the 18 individually decorated Junior Suites and Suites, especially the 3 Suites each with its own private terrace or access to the delightful patio.

As a matter of fact, between the 16th and the 17th century Milan was considered as a planetary capital in the production of weapons and armours, which were commissioned by the highest personalities and forged by skilful craftsmen.

It is possible to clearly identify on the city map by Bonvesin de la Riva (who lived between 13th and 14th century) the site where Petit Palais is today: a corner building facing "Naviglio" on a side, and Corso San Celso (nowadays Corso Italia) on the other one.

Having a look at Bonvesin's map, as well as at the maps draw by Franz Hogenberg (1572) and bu Charles Inselin (1705), it is easily identifiable the same building having the same size and proportions. This means that during the course of centuries it has not being changed but only slightly adjusted.

During the restoration to create Petit Palais that lasted five years and was carried out under the supervision of the Archeological Superintendence, various traces of such past interventions were found.
