Welcome to the enchanting world of Hotel Schloss Fuschl, situated just one Mozart serenade from the City of Salzburg. This legendary fairytale chateau is overlooking one of Austria´s grandest lakes within the Salzkammergut region and was built in 1450 as a hunting lodge. Used as the summer residence of the archbishops of Salzburg, the castle became world-famous, as its romantic situation within the Sound of Music area and the banks of lake Fuschl provided the ideal setting for the "Sissi" films with Romy Schneider. Associated with aristocrats, empresses and film stars, it has always been recognised as one of the finest places to stay in Austria.

In our seven exclusive tower suites, including the world-famous "Sissi" suite, guests can luxuriate in Renaissance, Empire, Baroque or Biedermeier style. In the "Jägerhaus" directly opposite the tower are the six country-house rooms and suites furnished in the characteristic style of the Salzkammergut region. Activities
You can jump straight into the lake for a swim from the famous jetty, or try out mountain biking, Nordic walking and skiing in winter in the surrounding area.
Golf:Fuschl is also a paradise for golfers with the hotel?s 9-hole GC Fuschl next to the hotel and the 18-hole championship course GC Eugendorf just 10 minutes drive away. Further 10 golf courses within half hour reach.
Fishing:Hotel Schloss Fuschl has the sole fishing rights on the lake. Lake Fuschl is richly endowed with many fresh water species. Gerhard, the master fisherman, would be delighted to inform you about the fascination of the lake and its underwater wildlife, followed by an authentic fisherman`s snack.
Skiing:With over 130 kilometres of well prepared trails, the Fuschlsee region has an excellent reputation amongst cross-country skiers. Particularly the resort of Faistenau with approximately 60 kilometres of good trails as well as extra services is a must for cross-country enthusiasts. Plentiful parking, changing rooms, showers and toilets, ski hire and service room are available for the ambitious as well as nature loving cross-country skiers.
Childrens Activites:For children the region surrounding Lake Fuschl is a huge adventure playground. The diverse leisure pursuits offered by nature - mountains to scramble up, a lake to swim in, meadows to play in - are complemented by our own programme of activities that will leave even the most active children breathless.
