Isolated on a rocky point by the Atlantic Ocean between Cascais marina and Hell's Mouth, the ultra-contemporary Farol Design Hotel combines a remodelled 19th-century mansion with 21st-century design.

Complimentary drinks are offered to guests upon arrival. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. A laptop computer can be lent to guests without charge. A saltwater pool and children's pool open in warm-weather months; the surrounding flagstone terrace is furnished with sun loungers and sun beds.

Once the summer home of the Count of Cabral, Farol Design Hotel upgraded the original 19th-century building and added a new section in 2001. A youthful clientele comes here to relax in daytime and party in Cascais nightspots after dark.
