Caneel Bay, a legendary resort founded by Laurence Rockefeller in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is reopening on November 1 as an independent boutique hotel with new restaurants and amenities. The former Sugar Mill restaurant is being entirely redone — from dining concept to menu — and will feature a new name: ZoZo's Ristorante. Guests will also be able to grab a snack or a little something sweet at Cannella, a coffee shop and Italian gelateria. (Fingers crossed for pistachio and Nutella flavors). At the spa, guests will be able to try two new treatments: the Hot Bamboo Massage, using warmed bamboo to massage muscles; and the Hot Seashell Massage, using heated shells to relieve stress. There are more changes to come, with a plan to renovate all the guestrooms next year and a fully completed project in the next two to three years.
