Salvatore Ferragamo, grandson of the Italian shoemaker of the same name and chief executive of the Il Borro family estate, has been named Relais & Châteaux guide ambassador for 2013. The Relais & Châteaux guide features the properties that best exhibit hospitality in hotels and dining establishments around the world. The Il Borro family estate joins the esteemed property list, as do Schlosshotel Im Grunewald, an early 20th-century manor in Berlin designed by Karl Lagerfeld; Barbara Lynch’s Menton restaurant in Boston, and Michael and Lindsay Tusk's Quince restaurant in San Francisco. According to Ferragamo, "Hospitality and wine production, this is my life today."
