Luxury resort and retreat Lumeria Maui has officially opened on the North Shore of Maui. The lifestyle expanding resort is a respite for adventure and personal enrichment set on six acres with ocean views. Xorin Balbes, an architectural conservator and interior designer, created Lumeria to become Hawaii’s premier alternative travel destination for a new age of educational adventures. “Lumeria is a vision of how I dreamed of living my own life,” said Xorin Balbes. “Opening a retreat center that nourishes people on every level has been a lifelong dream.” There are 24 guestrooms and suites complemented by spacious ocean views and a landscape with secluded meditation gardens, edible and tropical gardens, and lawn terraces. A schedule of retreats and workshops will be offered. Professional athletes, yoga masters, and culinary experts will teach specially designed classes and programs at Lumeria Maui. Introductory rates start at $349 per night.
